03/27/2003 Entry: "interweb"
I payed for 1Mb/s cable a few days ago (monday I think); and yet the maximum I have got out of it has been 60KB/s (~512Kb/s). I rang up tech. support yesterday and they attempted to walk me through some downloads from download.com via internet explorer to gauge the speeds (yay for accuracy).
Today I ring back (I wasn't at home when I rung so I couldn't do the 'benchmarking') and apparently they are waiting for a piece of hardware to catch up with the service so I should wait until monday.
My question is: Is it now morally wrong of me to just uncap the modem and set it to 1Mb/s myself?
You should uncap it to 2mb/s for a couple of days, to make up for the time lost.

Ok, up to one meg. Here's some 'testing':
28 Days Later (great film)
Metropolis (_great_ film)
Some live yngwie malmsteen (dissapointing)
Delgados - Peloton (haven't fully listened to)
Mercury Rev (to listen)
Silvan (Sounds good)
queensryche (hair!)
Jeff Wayne - War of the Worlds (Surely every household has one)
