I think we should hand out torpor accs to everyone and anyone, to get the flow of updates going.
And in other news, I have decided to try a 100% internal reuse/recycle policy. My aim is to learn just how feasible such a thing is, and better comprehend the predicament our society is in regarding waste management.
My local county just started a new recycling scheme where we put recycle-able goods into a seperate bin to be collected every other week. I think this is a really good idea, and I was very glad to have the opportunity to use it before I leave this house at the end of june.
That of course makes my life easier - glass, paper and tins which can be recycled are collected from my house. That only leaves the other stuff, namely plastic.
Looking at things I purchase from the point of view of what will become of their packaging has made me think differently about what I buy. Rather than get cartons of orange juice from the local supermarket, I'd rather travel a little further out and get glass bottles of orange juice (for a comparible price) from the german supermarket Aldi a mile or so away. I wonder if its possible to get glass bottles of coke? It doesn't seem to be. Luckily the supermarket next door to Aldi was doing a special offer on cans of vanilla coke, so I've got some more of those.
I can reuse shopping bags easily (if you are in a state which uses brown-paper bags for shopping, we have polythene bags... too many of them) for more shopping. The real problem is one-use plastic packaging and foil stuff from crisps, biscuits, etc.
I did manage to use a cardboard pizza-box to make a minidisc holder, and cardboard is fairly useful for a variety of things.
For a second when you said "internal" recycling I thought you meant eating your own shit and piss.

i'd like to give away accounts but it's just a pain in the ass
what i want, is fucking user accounts, for comments AND to be allowed to post on the front page.
THEN, i want the rating of the news item to decide whether it will stay on the front page, like kuro5hin except on a much, much smaller scale. this allows us to whack down any idiotic shit that someone posts.
i know tom would probably be great for writing this, but he probably isn't interested enough to take time away from things he actually finds interesting.

the php level should rise....
and yeah, i have never been interested in posting here that much, simply because it would probably reduce the amount of posting i do to my own site and there are certain people (real life people, in fact) that are starting to get on my back about it. i suppose i could get them to start reading torpor...or are we keeping this strictly to internal members only? *posts without previewing to find typos..*

We'd all wither and die if we tried to keep something like this internal. I don't see the fun in such a private little community. Just like we did when we privatized #doom! er, yeah.
