08/05/2003 Entry: "The Proper Canadian Way"
Long weekend went something like this.
Friday
- Software engineering group project demo at 4:30PM. Went well despite the fact one of the group members tried to add a last minute login/logout feature that broke and whenever you needed to relogin to the system you had to restart the app. Also, our testing strategy was non-existent. \m/
- Slept 7PM-2AM.
SaturdaySunday
- Sleep twelve hours and wake up at 7:30AM or so the next morning. Get a couple glasses of water and sit out on the porch watching humming birds for a couple hours. Suprising, I wasn't that hung over.
- Go to the tents to see if I can wake some people up for breakfast because I want some food + start drinking again. One of them says they'll be down in abit.
- Head back to the cabin and wait around. No one's coming so I say fuckit and mix another drink.
- 11:30AM, my friend's mother takes my drink away. :D
- I find out what happened the previous night. Friends finally show up, eat pancakes.
- I think we just sat around for a bit inside. Soaked some watermelon and honeydew in vodka.
- Headed to another neighbours and jumped in their hot tub.
- Went out on said neighbours' boat. I went first... tubing. The driver (friend's brother) started out slow since it was my first time but soon he was whipping around trying to flip me. Sure enough, it happened at one turn but being the determined retardo that I am, I tried to hold on and flip myself back over. Now here I am with the tube on top of me in the air and I'm below it, head above water. Then, my shorts go. So I'm under the tube with my shorts around my knees ready to fly off. Flip my body around and my balls get nailed with water, shorts drop to my ankles and mouth fills with water. I decide that it's finally not worth it and let go. Friends have a good laugh at my expense, although they didn't see me naked since I was under the tube. How disappointing.
- One person goes tubing and another one wakeboarding. I thought wakeboarding looked fun but my strength for it wasn't there at this point.
- Headed back in, got a snack and a nap. Woke up to BBQ'd food and finished my drink from the morning.
- Went to the first neighbour's place with drinks and vodka fruit. Got into drinking games. Ying-Yang-Yu and Mexicali. Trouble all around. I did pretty well, although I was still sober at this point. After everyone checks out on the games since they're too drunk to remember the rules, we head outside for some more drinks, fruit, and smoke.
- I head to bed at 3:30AM. Sleeping in the tent with four people was a little tight. There wasn't as much snoring, kicking, and talking in sleep as I thought there would be.
Monday
- Woke up at 9:30AM. Pack up, head to the cabin and ate a grilled cheese with oj. Friends are in worse shape than me. Leave at 11:30AM for the ferry.
- The next ferries are at 1:30PM and 5:50PM. We were thinking it'd be insane for the Monday after the long weekend as everyone's heading home down south so we'd have to wait around until 6PM. But no, we get to the dock at 12:30PM and are the first line for the next ferry.
- I don't like the word ferry. :(
- Sleep + studying + checking out more chicks on ferry. Sunny ride home. More poopy music. :(
- Went to bed last night at 9PM and slept for almost fourteen hours.
- Evaluating now, I just may be fucked for my first exam on Thursday.
So basically you slept through about 50% of the fun stuff?
