I spent some time today practicing doing pixel art today, with an eye to making a freedoom sprite or two at some point. This is what my mobile phone looks like:
Of course, the main difficultly with doing sprites isn't being able to draw something that looks good, its being able to do it from 8 different angles, at different stages of animation and remaining consistant throughout. I have one sprite started based on a photo of an owl's face, but I doubt it'll end up good enough to use. The rest of the day was spent either playing the piano or playing the recently reinstalled Unreal.

A suggestion was made to move the arrival/departure dates to the 13th and the 18th, respectively, thus leaving more of the 4 day schedule open.
I'm in favor of this idea, but we need to decide now what time frame we're really looking at.
Travelling into Chicago isn't something I want to be doing 4 days out of 6. Train tickets are non-trivial and I don't want to be driving that far every day either.
Thoughts?

Happy Easter everyone. Just one week to go before I return to the miserable, squalid hell hole that is university.

I wrote the metaphysics final this evening and it was meh... it's only worth 25% of the final mark and I know I passed the course, so I really didn't care. I probably got 60-70% on it. I also somehow pulled out a 73% on the 40% weight essay. I probably won't be taking any more philosophy courses because I'm just starting to get annoyed with it already. Fricken essays.
Otherwise all I have left for the semester is some more programming, a presentation on Friday showing off the work I've done (professors are supposed to attend so I guess I should try to make up a decent presentation)... then a work term report which is supposed to be in web page format this semester. I don't have a clue what I'll be doing it on. My first work term I did it on object-oriented programming in Perl, second one was on object-oriented design... er, wtf do I write on for this work term? It's on the same project. :/
What's with the shovel joke?

It is my contention that holding exams during NHL playoffs should be deemed ILLEGAL. How must one study with 9 hours of non-stop rock-em-sock-em action? Hrm?

So apparently there are 4 cases of SARS in Illinois at the moment, one of which was allegedly actually reported in Chinatown and has one of the clinics at the New Chinatown Square closed.
This is frightening because I was actually at that square about a week and a half ago, and I started feeling sick a few days after that visit.
Fortunately, no known deaths from SARS have occurred in the US despite a total number of around 120 cases. And I'm feeling better now.
Here's to hoping.
